Narrow Yew Fits Perfectly into Any Landscape
One of the most versatile and space-saving evergreens available, the Stonehenge Skinny® Yew is much narrower than other varieties, with a width of just 8 to 10 inches. This compact growth habit allows for close planting, even in tighter spaces.
Incredibly low-maintenance, the Stonehenge Skinny® Yew requires no pruning or shearing. This cold-hardy yew grows in a dense column of soft, dark green foliage and maintains its color all year long.
The Stonehenge Skinny® Yew will thrive wherever it is planted, including shaded areas. It is an excellent choice for a specimen in gardens, when used to create natural privacy hedges, or when planted in decorative containers and used as an outdoor accent. Grow yours today!
About Proven Winners®: Proven Winners® ColorChoice Shrubs offers flowering shrubs, evergreens, and trees that have been tested for eight to ten years to ensure they outperform conventional varieties. That means bigger flowers, more colorful foliage, reblooming, disease resistance, new habits, or anything that makes them more beautiful and easier to grow in your landscape or garden.
Planting & Care
1. Planting: The Stonehenge Skinny® Yew will grow even in areas with deep shade, but take care to choose a location with well-draining soil. To plant, dig a hole that is twice the size of the shrub’s root ball. Place the shrub into the hole and gently spread out its roots, then backfill the soil.
Spread a three-inch layer of mulch around the base of the shrub to keep the soil moist and slow weed growth.
2. Watering: Keep the soil around the yew moist but not overly wet for best growth, checking the soil about 2 inches down for dryness.
3. Fertilizing: Apply a water-soluble 10-10-10 plant fertilizer formula in the spring, once a month, to feed the yew.
4. Pruning: Pruning is not needed, although branches may be selectively removed if desired. Note that this yew is not deer-resistant and can sustain substantial damage in areas where deer pressure is high.
