The Story

Hybrid Avocado Tree Produces a Bounty of Delicious Fruit

Save time and money by growing your own avocados! No more last minute trips to the store when you add the Lamb Hass Avocado to your yard or garden. An upright, compact tree, the Lamb Hass thrives in zones 9-11 and grows between 15 and 20 feet high.

A unique cross between the Hass Avocado and Gwen Avocado, the Lamb Hass is bred to produce larger fruit. This hybrid tree grows delicious avocados that offer a smooth creamy texture and rich nutty flavor. Easy to peel, these avocados are perfect for making guacamole, adding to soups and salads, or enjoying on some toast any time of day.

A high-yielding, late season avocado, Lamb Hass fruit ripens after harvest, from May to November. These avocado trees are partially self-pollinating, meaning you may get fruit with only one tree. However, we recommend planting a pollinator tree nearby to help increase your fruit production. Don’t wait, order your Lamb Hass Avocado Tree today!

Planting & Care

1. Planting:  Choose a location with well-draining soil where your Lamb Hass will receive at least 6 hours of sunlight per day. Dig a hole that's slightly wider than the root ball and the same height, place the root ball in the hole and backfill the hole with soil. Adding a thick layer of mulch is a good way to help your tree retain moisture.

2. Watering: Water your Lamb Hass deeply and regularly during the first growing season to establish an extensive root system; reduce frequency once established.

3. Pruning:  Lamb Hass avocado trees should be pruned to shape and control their size, and to promote healthy growth. When pruning, remove low-hanging branches, cut above the nodes and cut the branches on the south side of the tree first.

4. Fertilizing: Apply a slow-release fertilizer in spring after flowering.

5. Pollination:  Lamb Hass Avocado trees are partially self-pollinating. You may get fruit with only one tree. However, we recommend planting a pollinator tree nearby to increase your fruit production. Below are some pollinators for your area:
