Planting & Care

1. Planting: Provide your plants with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily, preferably in the morning to dry off any dew. If your soil is heavy and retains water, improve drainage by creating a raised planting bed or a mound that is 12 to 18 inches high and 3 feet wide. 

Water deeply and regularly during the first few growing seasons to establish the roots, then reduce the watering frequency once they are established.

2. Watering: Water the plant when the top 2 inches of soil are dry.

3. Fertilizing: Apply fertilizer in late winter, just before the blooms begin to emerge.

4. Pruning:Prune to shape and remove any dead or damaged branches, and thin young fruit to enhance the size of mature fruit.
