The Story

Vibrant Heart-Shaped Foliage with Easy Care

Discover the Philodendron Brasil, a striking tropical plant known for its glossy heart-shaped leaves with bright yellow variegation that adds a lively touch to any indoor space. This fast-growing, low-maintenance vine thrives in moderate, indirect light and adapts well to various indoor environments, making it perfect for both beginners and plant enthusiasts. Its trailing habit is ideal for hanging baskets or shelves, enhancing your home with natural beauty and improved air quality.

Planting & Care:

1. Planting:  Place the Philodendron in bright, indirect sunlight, ideally in a sunny window with a thin curtain or blinds. Maintain a distance of 5 feet from nearby shrubs; if near a tree, you can plant it closer.

This plant prefers moist, well-draining soil rich in organic matter and thrives in warm, humid conditions. Typical indoor temperatures and humidity levels are usually sufficient, as long as it’s not near heating vents or drafty windows.

2. Watering:  Water your plant regularly, but allow it to dry out between waterings. Philodendrons cannot tolerate a wet environment, as this can lead to rot. If the humidity in your home is below average, consider using a humidifier.

3. Fertilizing:  Fertilize your plants three times a year (in spring, summer, and autumn) using a high-quality granular fertilizer. Alternatively, you can fertilize monthly during the growing season. To prevent fertilizer burn, refrain from fertilizing in the fall and winter months, when the plant enters dormancy.

4. Pruning: No trimming is required except for removing any old leaves and stems. This plant cannot be pruned to reduce its size, so ensure that its eventual height and width will fit well in your landscape. The best time to prune is during the active growing season (spring and summer).
